"Junk" teapot

A teapot hidden in the back of a cupboard for years sold at auction for £3,800.
It was found by Elizabeth South who thought it was "junk".
Auctioneers from Thomas Mawer and Son, in Lincoln spotted it and they knew it was something special.
The teapot, dates from 1810 to 1820, and is an example of Prattware, a style of pottery created by Felix Pratt of Longport in Staffordshire.

Talk about somebody's trash become someone else's treasure. Teapots nowadays are like antiques, the stranger-looking, the older it is, the more it's going to cost.
