Otto Lindig


A modernist tea set for two designed by the Bauhaus ceramist Otto Lindig in 1929
Comprising a Model 4010/B teapot with two cups, saucers and dessert plates.
Executed in cream-glazed earthenware by the Staatliche Majolika Manufaktur, Karlsruhe. The teapot marked with the model number and factory mark, the other pieces the factory mark only.
In 1926, Lindig became the head of the ceramics workshop at the Staatliche Bauhochschule Weimar in Dornburg, running the Dornburg ceramics work independently from 1930. He also taught ceramics master classes at the Hochschule fur Bildende Kunste in Hamburg from 1947 to 1960.
